New York City – CheckParking is pleased to announce that our official launch will be this Sunday, November 1.
CheckParking is the first and most feature rich free parking application for the IPhone. Our unique interface allows users in four cities (New York City, San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles) to identify nearby parking lots and garages. The software shows not only locations, but also hours, phone numbers, and rate information.
The service is especially beneficial to users, as for the first time they will be able to compare and contrast pricing of garages and lots near their locations. These price differences are frequently quite large and it is not uncommon to find a $30 daily or $200 monthly difference in garages that are only a couple blocks apart. We also offer coupons to many lots and garages that are only available to users of the free CheckParking application.
Garages benefit from the use of our service as well since they can advertise their location and pricing to nearby customers. Also, for the first time, garages will be able to price discriminate by signing up for our coupon system.
As we ramp up for our official release we are excited about our progress so far. We have had thousands of downloads of our beta version with many satisfied users despite the fact that our system is still far from perfect. We would like to thank everyone for their great feedback.
We are also very enthusiastic about the team that we have assembled including a couple MBA’s from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, top developers from the Computer Science PhD program at Carnegie Mellon, and a number of partners with deep experience in the parking vertical.
